Australian Cricket Hall of Fame welcomes Mike Hussey and Lyn Larsen as 62nd and 63rd inductees

Cricket Australia announced the induction of former batter Mike Hussey and women's skipper Lyn Larsen into the prestigious Australian Cricket Hall of Fame. The declaration took place ahead of the Boxing Day Test between Australia and Pakistan at the iconic Melbourne Cricket Ground.

Mike Hussey, affectionately known as 'Mr. Cricket' was a vital part of Australia's ODI World Cup-winning team in 2007 and played a crucial role in the famous Ashes series victory against England. With this recognition, Hussey becomes the 62nd inductee into the Australian Cricket Hall of Fame.

Hussey, who retired from the game in 2014, boasts an impressive cricket career spanning nine years, during which he scored 6235 runs in 79 Tests and 5442 runs in 185 ODIs. Lyn Larsen, the legendary former captain of the Australian women's team, was also inducted, making her the 63rd member of the Hall of Fame.

Larsen led the women's team to victory in the 1988 ODI World Cup, securing a triumph against England in the final at the Melbourne Cricket Ground. Her captaincy legacy includes leading the team in 10 Tests, winning five and drawing five, along with captaining Australia in 43 women's ODIs, winning 23 matches.
